Visit to Bridge - Isle of Inishmore

On Saturday 24th May 2014 fourteen members enjoyed a very informative visit to the bridge and engine room of the Isle of Inishmore ferry, whilst berthed at Pembroke Dock. Hosted by Captain Gerry Burns, those present were entertained with an overview of the ship and operational capabilities. A visit to the engine room was also included and it was found that the engines were painted a nice shade of irish clover green! That's as technical as we are going to getOur.  Thanks to Irish Ferries for arranging the visit. Remember Rule 52 of the COLREGS states- Fibreglass gives way to steel!

RNLI Cheque presentation Evening

Saturday 16th November

Dear Members,

On the evening of Saturday 16th November the Club is holding its annual RNLI cheque presentation evening. Members of Angle RNLI are invited to the club to receive the presentation monies. There will be a buffet supper and live entertainment provided by 'Rockaholics'. As the Commodore I ask that you support this very worthwhile evening where we show our appreciation for the lifeboat crew, who on occasion risk their lives to rescue fellow sea faring persons. Thank goodness I'm not a  RNLI statistic yet!!!!!!!    Show your appreciation by turning up, with a contribution of food if possible, and enjoying an evening of unbridled entertainment by Jenny Sucksmith and the Rockaholics. Alistair Lindsay

Saturday 10 June Weather dictates My favourite plan to start a trip to West Ireland is to dedicate 20-30 hours overnight on a westward thrust to get a good number of miles under the belt and avoid the trap of arriving in the south-east and then having to hack down the south-west trending coast. ...
